The Chicago Bears have been quite active this offseason, with a clear focus on surrounding their young franchise quarterback, Caleb Williams, with more talent.

On the offensive side, the Bears have made significant improvements to their line, acquiring Jonah Jackson and Joe Thuney through trades while also signing Drew Dalman in free agency.

Additionally, they bolstered their skill positions by signing wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus, running back Travis Homer, and wide receiver Devin Duvernay.

Despite these moves, Chicago may still be in the market for another major offensive addition. One possibility that has been floated is a trade for Philadelphia Eagles veteran tight end Dallas Goedert.

Dallas Goedert, Eagles agree to terms on four-year, $57M extension through 2025

CBS Sports analyst Cody Benjamin identified the Bears as a top potential landing spot for Goedert, noting that while Cole Kmet is a solid option at tight end, he has struggled with inconsistency. Benjamin also pointed out that Chicago’s assistant general manager, Ian Cunningham, was with the Eagles when Goedert was drafted, which could make a deal more likely.

Goedert has been a key part of Philadelphia’s offense for seven seasons. In 2024, he played in 10 games, recording 42 receptions for 496 yards and two touchdowns.

If the Eagles are open to trading him at a reasonable price, adding Goedert could provide Williams with a reliable veteran target to aid his development.
