The reigning Rawlings Platinum Glove winner wasn’t included among this year’s Gold Glove finalists, but a long-overdue recognition finally came for a deserving center fielder.
On Wednesday morning, Rawlings announced the nominees for the annual Gold Glove Awards, and one notable omission stood out — Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh was left off the list.

The three American League finalists at catcher are Alejandro Kirk of the Blue Jays, Dillon Dingler of the Tigers, and Carlos Narvaez of the Red Sox.
Meanwhile, Julio Rodríguez earned a nomination in center field, joining Kansas City’s Kyle Isbel and Boston’s Ceddanne Rafaela as finalists.
