“For some reason, certain players believe they’re going to be traded. … Who would want them?”
Former Chicago White Sox star and manager Ozzie Guillén has been vocal about the team’s poor performance this season, and he delivered a sharp remark on Monday night following their latest defeat.
The White Sox fell to the Kansas City Royals, 8-5, marking their franchise-record 15th consecutive loss in a single season. They are now 27-82, on track for 122 losses, with the MLB modern-era record being 120.
On NBC Sports Chicago’s postgame show, Guillén discussed potential team moves ahead of Tuesday’s MLB trade deadline.
"For some reason, some players out there think they're gonna get traded. A couple of guys making comments."
"Who'd want you? For real."

“Some players seem to think they’ll be traded,” Guillén remarked. “A few have even commented.
“Who’d want you? Seriously.”
To be fair, Guillén is downplaying the team’s potential assets. The team traded starter Erick Fedde, outfielder Tommy Pham, and closer Michael Kopech on Monday in a three-team deal involving the St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Several teams have shown interest in other White Sox players, including outfielder Luis Robert Jr. and ace pitcher Garrett Crochet.
However, Guillén’s frustration is understandable. As the manager who led the team to the 2005 World Series championship, he longs for better days on the South Side.
Fans certainly sympathized with him.
