Brian Hartline Continues to Set the Standard at Wide Receiver
Widely regarded as the best position coach in college football, Brian Hartline has built an impressive reputation for developing talent at an exceptional pace. Under his guidance, Ohio State has become a premier destination for wide receivers aiming to reach the NFL. As a result, elite recruits continue to flock to Columbus, and more often than not, the Buckeyes land the players they’re targeting.
Looking to the future, Ohio State is already evaluating talent in upcoming classes. One new name on the radar is Brysen Wright, a standout in the 2028 class.
Wright, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound freshman from Florida, already holds close to 20 scholarship offers, including from powerhouse programs like Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Tennessee, and Texas. Although Ohio State may be a bit late in offering, Hartline’s success in Florida—and his overall track record—suggest the Buckeyes will be a serious contender.

There’s a long way to go in Wright’s recruitment, but the next step will be getting him on campus. Either way, he’s a player to watch as Hartline continues to prove why Ohio State is a premier destination for wide receivers.
Ohio State Extends 2026 Offer to Cornerback Danny Odem
Cornerbacks coach Tim Walton is putting together another strong group for the 2026 cycle, despite losing top in-state targets Victor Singleton (Texas A&M) and Elbert Hill (USC). While some fans have expressed frustration over those losses, the Buckeyes quickly bounced back by securing a commitment from Jordan Thomas earlier this week.

On Thursday, Ohio State expanded its search with a new offer to Danny Odem, a cornerback from Florida. Ranked No. 529 nationally and No. 43 at his position by the 247Sports Composite, Odem’s ranking might not jump off the page, but his offer sheet—featuring schools like Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Oklahoma, and Penn State—speaks volumes about his talent.
Given the urgency of the current cycle, expect Ohio State to move swiftly if they see Odem as a legitimate target, with a campus visit likely to follow soon.
