TORONTO (AP) — The Toronto Blue Jays and right-hander Yimi García agreed to a two-year, $15 million contract on Friday, just months after García was traded to the Seattle Mariners.

García, 34, was dealt to Seattle on July 26 in exchange for outfielder Jonatan Clase and catcher/outfielder Jacob Sharp. During his stint with the Mariners, he posted a 6.00 ERA in nine innings across 10 appearances and spent much of his time on the injured list due to arm issues.

This season, García went 3-0 with a 3.46 ERA and recorded five saves in 39 appearances, pitching a total of 39 innings.

Over his 10-year career, García has a 22-29 record with a 3.59 ERA and 26 saves, playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers (2014-19), Miami Marlins (2020-21), Houston Astros (2021), Toronto Blue Jays (2022-24), and Seattle Mariners. He missed the 2017 season following Tommy John surgery.

To make room on the roster, the Blue Jays designated catcher Nick Raposo for assignment.
