Former Los Angeles Angels pitcher Kenny Rosenberg announced on X that he has signed with the Kiwoom Heroes of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) on a one-year deal worth $800,000.
Rosenberg, 29, was released by the Angels in November after the conclusion of the 2024 MLB and minor league seasons. Following his release, he expressed gratitude to the Angels organization and the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees, saying: “Just want to take a moment to thank the Angels organization for giving me my first crack at the big leagues, and the Salt Lake Bees for being first class to me and my family for the past 3 years. So many incredible people that I’ve been lucky to cross paths with. Bye for now.”
Rosenberg spent three years in the Angels organization after being selected in the 2021 Rule 5 Draft from the Tampa Bay Rays, who had originally drafted him in the eighth round of the 2016 MLB Draft. He played five seasons in the Rays’ minor league system before joining the Angels.
In 2022, Rosenberg began with the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees, posting a 2-5 record with a 3.16 ERA and 62 strikeouts over 13 games. He earned his MLB debut that year, pitching in three games with a 4.22 ERA and eight strikeouts. Designated for assignment later that year, Rosenberg cleared waivers and returned to Salt Lake.
During the 2023 season, Rosenberg went 7-7 with a 4.95 ERA over 20 starts for Salt Lake and made seven appearances (three starts) with the Angels, recording a 2-2 record with a 3.82 ERA and 29 strikeouts. In 2024, he posted a 9-7 record with a 4.21 ERA and 105 strikeouts across 21 Triple-A starts, along with seven major league appearances, finishing with an 0-1 record and a 6.00 ERA.
Rosenberg now embarks on his first season in the KBO, joining the Kiwoom Heroes as he continues his professional career.
