The Dallas Cowboys’ victory over the New York Giants came with setbacks, as sources confirmed that defensive stars  will be sidelined for several weeks due to injuries sustained during Thursday night’s game.

According to NFL Network, Parsons, a three-time All-Pro, left the game late in the fourth quarter and was carted off with a high ankle sprain. He is expected to miss multiple weeks, though the team hopes he can return after their Week 7 bye, when the Cowboys face the 49ers in San Francisco.

Lawrence, a four-time Pro Bowler, left in the third quarter with a foot sprain and will consult a specialist to assess the injury and plan his recovery. He is also anticipated to miss multiple games.

With both players out, rookie defensive end Marshawn Kneeland, drafted in the second round from Western Michigan, will see an increased role.
