Deuce Knight, an Auburn Tigers quarterback commit from Mississippi, attended the game where Ole Miss defeated the Georgia Bulldogs.
Although Deuce Knight is currently committed to Auburn, he’s far from a guaranteed signee for the Tigers.
His recent unofficial visit to Ole Miss for the Georgia game highlights why. Knight joined Ole Miss recruits and fans on the field, making this trip to the Grove notable—especially with National Signing Day only 25 days away on December 4.

While it’s common for committed recruits to visit other schools, the timing of this visit stands out. In today’s recruiting landscape, commitments don’t stop players from exploring other programs, but being only three weeks away from officially signing with Auburn makes this visit different. Knight, who recently decommitted from Notre Dame to join Auburn, is no stranger to changing his mind.
As Rivals’ No. 32 overall player and No. 2 quarterback, Knight’s continued interest in Ole Miss could signal a potential shift. His familiarity with Ole Miss—having visited several times before—is reason enough to raise concerns.

It’s one thing for Knight to explore multiple schools, but as Auburn’s future quarterback and the face of its recruiting class, he surely understands the implications of his actions. His intelligence suggests he’s giving serious thought to signing with Ole Miss. Now, the real recruitment battle begins.
Auburn coach Hugh Freeze and his staff need to draw Knight back to Auburn quickly. They have a strong opportunity on November 16, when Auburn faces Louisiana-Monroe at home. Tracking Knight’s visits will be the best indicator of his interest. If he attends that game—and potentially the final home game against Texas A&M on November 23—Auburn’s chances of securing his commitment will improve.
However, it won’t be easy.
Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin is keen on signing Knight, given his dual-threat skills that fit well with the Rebels’ run-pass option scheme. Kiffin is determined to bring Knight on board, especially since Ole Miss lacks a quarterback for their 2025 recruiting class. The Rebels also have hometown support in their favor.
Coming from Lucedale, Mississippi, Knight is an in-state recruit for Ole Miss, with local fans eager for him to wear the Rebel colors. The NIL opportunities will likely be comparable to those at Auburn, making Ole Miss a formidable contender for Knight.
The next few steps are critical. If Knight doesn’t return to Auburn for the Louisiana-Monroe game, Auburn’s odds of signing him could decrease.
