San Francisco Giants starting pitcher is expected to enter free agency this winter, opting out of his current contract. The 31-year-old has been impressive since coming off the IL on July 9th, posting a 1.23 ERA and recording 114 strikeouts over roughly 80 innings.
Snell isn’t the only major player facing a tough decision in free agency. Cubs All-Star Cody Bellinger, 29, is also in a similar position. This offseason promises to be an intriguing and exciting period for MLB.

Should Snell Stay Or Go?
Like any top pitcher, Blake Snell has his sights set on winning a World Series and securing a championship ring. Although he hasn’t yet achieved that goal, he brings valuable postseason experience to the table. Over his career, Snell has posted a 4-3 record, a 3.33 ERA, and 61 strikeouts in playoff games.

Currently, the San Francisco Giants are sitting at .500 and are not in playoff contention this season. Their last World Series victory came in 2014, and last year they finished with a similar 79-83 record, placing fourth in the NL West.
If Snell is aiming for a World Series title, the Giants probably won’t be the team to get him there. He’ll likely be targeting a move to a contending team. Several teams, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, Baltimore Orioles, and Texas Rangers, have already expressed strong interest in him.
Snell will be a highly sought-after player, and one key reason is his resilience. He’s shown the ability to recover from injuries and return even stronger—a skill that’s hard to master but one he makes look effortless. With two Cy Young Awards and an All-Star appearance in 2018, Snell is a seasoned veteran in his ninth MLB season. He boasts a career 3.19 ERA and a 76-58 record.
