Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark has set a new WNBA rookie record for the most three-pointers made in a season. Before the Fever’s game against the Connecticut Sun, Clark was tied with Atlanta Dream’s Rhyne Howard for the record, with Howard having made 85 threes.

Clark broke the record by hitting her 86th three-pointer in the first quarter, thanks to a high ball screen from Aliyah Boston. Despite being guarded by DiJonai Carrington, Clark drove towards the basket, then stepped back to make the three-pointer. The Fever celebrated the milestone on X with the message, “Rook’s got range.”

Clark has been exceptional this season, leading all rookies with an average of 18.0 points per game and topping the league with 8.2 assists per game.

With nine games left in the season, she has the opportunity to further enhance her stats. The Fever, currently ranked 7th in the WNBA with a 14-16 record, will face Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky on Aug. 30 in their next primetime matchup.
