Shemar Stewart has officially found his NFL destination in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The former Texas A&M standout didn’t enter the draft with eye-popping college stats, but his impressive pre-draft testing numbers turned heads among NFL general managers. As buzz around him grew, he steadily climbed draft boards and became widely seen as a likely first-round pick.

That projection came true, as Stewart was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft. He’ll now head to the AFC North, where he’ll go toe-to-toe with the likes of Myles Garrett as a fellow defensive end in the division.
Cincinnati Bengals fans will love what Shemar Stewart brings to the table
Shemar didn’t rack up a ton of sacks in college, but what will immediately stand out to Bengals fans is his elite ability against the run. Stewart is a selfless player in the trenches, using his rare athleticism to overpower offensive tackles and disrupt offensive schemes.

As he continues to develop his pass-rushing skills, he has the potential to be a major steal at No. 17. If everything clicks, he could emerge as the top defensive end from this entire draft class.

He’s also entering a favorable situation in Cincinnati. With Trey Hendrickson moving on, Shemar will get the opportunity to contribute right away and take on a key role. He started as a freshman at Texas A&M and consistently delivered for the Aggies—I’m confident he’ll do the same in the NFL.
This is a strong move for the Bengals. Stewart is poised to fire up the fanbase and make teams that passed on him regret it.
