Former San Jose State wide receiver TreyShun Hurry had a clear vision when he entered the transfer portal last month: he wanted to join a team with an offense that would allow him to display his abilities, and a coach who could help him reach his full potential.
At 6-foot-2 and 194 pounds, Hurry found the perfect fit with Louisville.
He’s among nine players the Cardinals picked up from the spring transfer portal, officially committing in late April. He’s one of two wide receivers added during this window, along with former NC State pass-catcher Dacari Collins.
“Everything about Coach Brohm felt real,” Hurry told Cardinal Authority. “He’s a genuine person and a great coach. He’s committed to helping me succeed, and I want to do the same for him. There was a lot that stood out to me.”

Hurry said he was impressed by the team culture and how clearly he could envision a strong future for himself at Louisville.
The Cardinals return two experienced receivers, Chris Bell and Caullin Lacy, but head coach Jeff Brohm mentioned during spring practices that the team needed more depth at that position.
Hurry said that need played a big role in his decision.
“The coaches told me they needed a player like me to come in and contribute immediately,” he said. “They want someone explosive who can help chase an ACC title. I see myself as that kind of player—someone who can create big plays and extend drives.”
A native of Palmdale, California, Hurry also cited quarterback Miller Moss as a major draw. The two have mutual acquaintances, and Hurry followed Moss’s career at USC, saying he knows how talented Moss is.
“We know each other a little bit,” Hurry said. “It’s exciting to play with a QB like him. We’re going to push each other, build chemistry, and put up points. I think we can be a really dynamic offense.”
Hurry played one season at San Jose State, where he caught 28 passes for 482 yards and two touchdowns. Prior to that, he spent two seasons at Weber State, redshirting in 2022 before recording 29 receptions for 384 yards and a score in 2023.
Rated an 89 by 247Sports as a three-star transfer, Hurry received offers from programs like Baylor, BYU, Florida State, Miami, Tennessee, USF, and West Virginia. According to 247Sports, players with that rating are considered strong prospects with traits that could lead to an NFL opportunity.
Originally from Lancaster, California, Hurry played high school football at Paraclete High School. He was unranked in the Class of 2022, holding offers from schools like Northern Arizona, Eastern Washington, Portland State, and Weber State.
