The Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to a deal with Pitt kicke as an undrafted free agent, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
He had visited the Steelers before the draft, though he didn’t count toward their 30 allotted pre-draft visits since he played locally at Pitt. During his time at Pitt, He established himself as one of the top kickers in college football.
A left-footed kicker, He handled kicking duties for the Panthers over the past four seasons, helping them achieve two ranked finishes. He set school records for longest successful field goals, hitting from 57 and 68 yards last season, and has shown the ability to kick from NFL distances.
The Steelers currently don’t have an immediate need at kicker, with veteran Chris Boswell locked in under contract and still performing well.

During his college career, Sauls was highly reliable, making 52 of 64 field goals and converting 122 of 124 extra points, with a personal best field goal of 59 yards.
Even if he doesn’t stick in Pittsburgh, Sauls will have the opportunity to showcase his talent during training camp and preseason games. With Boswell typically taking it easy in the spring and summer, Sauls should get plenty of chances to make an impression — either with the Steelers or another NFL team.
