The Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns are rivals in the AFC North, but they might become business partners soon. Currently, Pittsburgh (3-1) leads the AFC North, while Cleveland (1-3) is at the bottom. With Cleveland’s franchise future appearing uncertain, trading star players for draft picks is a typical strategy.
Steelers-Browns Agreed To Massive Trade (Report)
Dave Holcomb emphasized a report suggesting He could be involved in a significant inter-division trade:
On October 2, ESPN’s Dan Graziano and Jeremy Fowler mentioned that the Steelers might target receiver Amari Cooper if the Cleveland Browns decide to make him available for trade.
Fowler noted, “If Cleveland continues to struggle, Amari Cooper could be an appealing option since his contract restructuring has him playing at a minimum base salary.”
However, a major hurdle in acquiring Cooper for Pittsburgh may be Cleveland’s reluctance to assist a division rival.
“Cooper is one to keep an eye on for Pittsburgh, but since it would involve an in-division trade, those can be challenging to execute,” Graziano added.

The last trade between the Steelers and Browns occurred in September 2017 when Pittsburgh sent wide receiver Sammie Coates and a 2019 seventh-round pick to Cleveland in exchange for a 2017 sixth-rounder.
Since then, the Steelers have not made any trades with another AFC North team, with their last such transaction being in March 2020. On March 2 of that year, they traded a 2021 fifth-round pick to the Baltimore Ravens, receiving defensive lineman Chris Wormley and a 2021 seventh-round pick in return.
This potential trade could significantly impact the AFC, providing Pittsburgh with another reliable starting wide receiver to complement George Pickens. With Justin Fields currently winning games and Russell Wilson expected to return this season, bolstering their offense will be essential for the Steelers to remain competitive for a championship.
