The Pittsburgh Steelers have re-signed outside linebacker, as announced on Wednesday. He had been elevated to the active roster for Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders, but was released on Monday.

In another roster move, the Steelers signed inside linebacker Colby Young to replace Jacoby Windmon, who was claimed by the Carolina Panthers on Tuesday.

Ogundeji made his debut for the Steelers against the Raiders, recording a pass deflection but no other statistics. Originally drafted by the Falcons in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Ogundeji has appeared in 33 NFL games, totaling three sacks during his time in Atlanta.

Both Ogundeji and Eku Leota played on Sunday and have since returned to the practice squad. Following the Wednesday moves, the Steelers’ practice squad now holds 17 players.

The team is hopeful that outside linebacker Alex Highsmith will return after missing three weeks due to a groin injury. If he is available, Highsmith will start alongside T.J. Watt, though Nick Herbig remains sidelined, potentially giving Ogundeji another opportunity to be promoted from the practice squad for Sunday’s game.
