DONE DEAL: Pirates finalize Another Deal With 4.45 ERA Left-hander

BRADENTON, Fla. (AP) — Left-hander Andrew Heaney and the Pittsburgh Pirates have finalized a one-year contract worth $5.25 million, the team announced on Saturday.

The 33-year-old Heaney brings with him an 11-year career that includes a 51-62 record and a 4.45 ERA, mostly spent with the Los Angeles Angels.

Heaney spent the past two seasons with the Texas Rangers, achieving a career-high 10 wins in 2023 while playing a key role in helping the team secure their first World Series title. In 2024, he posted a 5-14 record with a 4.28 ERA over 32 appearances.

To make room for Heaney on the roster, right-hander Brett de Geus was designated for assignment. Additionally, Pittsburgh released right-hander Yerry Rodriguez, who had been signed to a minor league contract.
