The Mets bolstered their bullpen depth over the weekend by acquiring right-hander from the San Francisco Giants in exchange for cash considerations.
“He’s got a good arm and throws strikes,” said Mets manager Carlos Mendoza, via SNY. “He has options, which is important, and he’s known for his command.”
Garza, 31, has pitched 17 2/3 innings for the Giants’ Triple-A team this season, recording a 6.11 ERA and 1.47 WHIP with 20 strikeouts.

He last appeared in the majors in 2023 with the Red Sox, where he posted a 7.36 ERA over 17 appearances. Garza also spent time in the big leagues with Cleveland in 2021.
