Done Deal: Los Angeles Chargers latest trade land top cornerback

The Los Angeles Chargers have signed cornerback, releasing/injuring cornerback Jordan Oladokun in a corresponding move.

Shelton rejoins the Chargers after spending part of last season on their practice squad. He originally entered the NFL in 2023 as an undrafted free agent with the New York Jets. A Gardena, Calif., native, Shelton played 45 games over five seasons (2018–22) at San Jose State, following a year at Long Beach City College in 2017.

He earned honorable mention All-Mountain West honors in his final two seasons with the Spartans and was a first-team All-Central League selection in 2017. Over his San Jose State career, he recorded 195 tackles (152 solo), eight interceptions, 32 pass breakups, 3.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and two recoveries.
