Done Deal: Los Angeles Chargers’ brutal 2025 schedule land another Linebacker

The Los Angeles Chargers have signed linebacker, while releasing linebacker Jeremiah Jean-Baptiste in a corresponding roster move.

Mauga played in 17 games over the past two seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders (2023-24), contributing two assisted tackles on defense and making four tackles on special teams.

A native of Waianae, Hawaii, he entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Denver Broncos in 2022 following a four-year collegiate career at USC (2018–21). With the Trojans, he started 24 of 43 games and compiled 207 total tackles (106 solo), 16.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, six pass breakups, three interceptions, and two forced fumbles.

In 2020, Pro Football Focus named him a third-team All-Pac-12 selection, and he earned honorable mention honors as a senior. While at Waianae High School, Mauga was named Hawaii’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2017 after racking up over 50 tackles and scoring three defensive touchdowns.
