After meeting with the Vikings on Monday, former first-round cornerback Jeff Okudah is signing a one-year deal with the team, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter.Okudah most recently played for the Texans, appearing in six games during their run to the divisional round.
The 26-year-old was selected by the Lions in the first round of the 2020 draft. As a rookie, he started six of nine games, recording 47 tackles, two pass breakups, and one interception before injuries cut his season short.

Another injury sidelined him for nearly all of 2021, but he rebounded in 2022 with 15 starts, posting a career-high 73 tackles, seven pass breakups, and an interception returned for a touchdown.

Okudah spent the 2023 season with the Falcons, where he played in 13 games (nine starts), finishing with 44 tackles and three pass breakups. He then joined the Texans in 2024 but had a limited role.
For the Vikings, signing Okudah is a low-cost move aimed at adding depth to their cornerback group while giving the former top prospect a fresh opportunity under defensive coordinator Brian Flores.
If he performs well, Minnesota could benefit from his contributions in a rotational role and potentially earn a compensatory pick if he re-establishes himself and lands a bigger deal elsewhere in 2026.
Contract details have yet to be disclosed, and updates will follow once those figures are available.
