The Braves signed left-handed pitcher to a minor league contract earlier this month, according to his MLB.com profile. Moran became a free agent after the 2023 season.

This marks the third consecutive offseason that He has signed a minor league deal with Atlanta, though he has yet to appear in the majors during his time with the organization. In 2023, he posted a 3.21 ERA, a 28.3% strikeout rate, and a 9.8% walk rate over 47 2/3 innings with Triple-A Gwinnett.

However, his performance dipped in 2024, as he recorded a 5.91 ERA and a 22.9% strikeout rate over 45 2/3 innings, despite lowering his walk rate to 7.6%. Advanced metrics highlight some inconsistencies, with an 84.8% strand rate in 2023 and a .373 BABIP in 2024.

Now approaching his age-36 season, He appears to be seen by the Braves as a reliable veteran depth option, though the team has yet to add him to the active roster. Breaking into the bullpen could prove challenging, with left-handers Dylan Lee, Aaron Bummer, Angel Perdomo, and Dylan Dodd already expected to fill key relief roles. Additionally, the Braves recently added another southpaw, Kolton Ingram, on a minor league deal.
