BREAKING: Tennessee Volunteers’ Josh Heupel Just Fooled Everyone

What a bold decision by Tennessee Volunteers head coach Josh Heupel! In front of more than 90,000 roaring fans at Sanford Stadium, all hoping the Georgia Bulldogs can keep their College Football Playoff dreams alive, Heupel had other plans.

As Tennessee and Georgia battled it out, the Vols struck first with a surprising play call from Heupel near the one-yard line. Facing 3rd-and-goal, most expected star running back Dylan Sampson to power his way into the end zone.

Instead, Heupel handed the ball to tight end Miles Kitselman—giving him the first carry of his career. And just like that, the Vols stunned the crowd with a gutsy move.

Miles Kitselman scored the first TD for Tennessee in surprising fashion

When Kitselman lined up at fullback, everyone assumed his role was to deliver a crushing block for Sampson. Instead, he took the handoff and lunged with full extension to ensure he crossed the goal line.

Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit were as surprised by the play call as the rest of us. The touchdown capped an impressive 12-play, 78-yard opening drive for the Vols—a dream start for fans, especially with the expectation of a tough battle ahead.

With a healthy Nico Iamaleava leading the offense, Tennessee has looked sharp early. Maintaining that momentum will be crucial if they hope to leave Athens with an upset victory.
