“Houston Rockets coach Ime Udoka will be without a crucial member of his coaching staff during the 2024-25 season.”
Ime Udoka has been praised for his efforts in keeping the Houston Rockets intact this offseason. They managed to re-sign all their pending free agents, including veteran point guard Aaron Holiday, a move that defied some expectations, according to a source.

However, one of Udoka’s most significant losses during the offseason was on the coaching staff. Assistant coach Tiago Splitter departed to take on the role of head coach at Paris Basketball.
Splitter began his coaching career with the Brooklyn Nets in 2019 after retiring from the NBA, where he served for four seasons before joining Udoka’s staff in Houston in 2023.
During his time with the Rockets, Splitter played a crucial role in developing several players. His coaching philosophy is deeply rooted in his nearly two-decade playing career, which started in Ipiranga in 1999.
A native of Brazil, Splitter entered the NBA in the 2010-11 season with the San Antonio Spurs, where he played under coach Gregg Popovich for five seasons and helped secure a victory against the Miami Heat in the 2014 NBA Finals. Following his tenure with the Spurs, Splitter spent two years with the Atlanta Hawks before concluding his NBA career with the Philadelphia 76ers.
