The Chicago White Sox are currently one of the weakest teams in modern baseball, facing a long road ahead to rebuild their roster into a contender. However, there is some optimism, as the organization boasts several promising prospects, particularly among their young pitchers.

As the offseason begins, Chicago has several key roster decisions to make—but before addressing them, the team lost one of its outfielders.

According to MLB’s Scott Merkin, outfielder Dominic Fletcher has chosen to leave the White Sox and enter free agency this offseason.

Fletcher, 28, was originally a second-round draft pick by the Arizona Diamondbacks. After progressing through their minor league system, he made his MLB debut with Arizona in 2023, hitting .301/.350/.441 with two homers, a triple, and five doubles in his rookie year.

He joined the White Sox in 2024 and appeared in 84 games over the past two seasons, though he only played 12 games this year.

For his career, Fletcher owns a .233 batting average with four home runs and a 0.6 WAR across 348 major league at-bats. At 28, the former top prospect should attract interest from multiple teams this offseason, likely on a modest big-league deal.
