The Las Vegas Raiders’ wide receiver group has struggled this season, with only two receivers having over 20 catches so far. Tight end Brock Bowers currently leads the team in receptions.

With a 2-6 record and slim playoff chances, the Raiders are unlikely to trade for a big-name receiver. Instead, they’ve opted to promote a young talent from within.

The team announced that rookie wide receiver has been added to the active roster, as reported by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. He, a former standout at Tennessee, signed as an undrafted free agent during the offseason and has spent most of the season on the practice squad. His two-year contract suggests that the Raiders see potential in him.

Now, with Jakobi Meyers and Tre Tucker as the only consistent contributors at wide receiver, He will have the opportunity to carve out a role in the offense.

Luke Getsy Talks Avoiding Simple Mistakes

The Raiders have dropped several games this season that were within reach, largely due to preventable errors on offense. The team has struggled with untimely penalties, avoidable turnovers, and generally inconsistent play.

Offensive coordinator Luke Getsy recently addressed the issues facing the Raiders’ offense.

“It’s all of us, right?” Getsy shared in a recent press conference. “It’s a team effort, and I truly believe that. I think the inconsistencies are fading. … Each week, it’s improving little by little. The mindset and understanding of our objective are becoming clearer with each game. … You have to keep reinforcing that all 11 players on the field need to be aligned, and that’s the key.”

Given their current talent, the Raiders can’t afford this many mistakes on offense. Cutting down on errors would make it significantly easier to put points on the board.

Antonio Pierce Still Committed to the Run

The Raiders’ offensive struggles stem largely from their inability to run the ball. Currently, they rank 31st in rushing offense in the NFL, with little sign of improvement as the season progresses.

However, head coach Antonio Pierce remains committed to the run game, resisting a pass-heavy approach.

“We’ve got to run the ball,” Pierce said in an October 30 press conference. “We can’t just throw the ball 40 or 50 times. That hasn’t worked for us. So we’ll keep pushing.”

While the Raiders have had a tough season, Pierce is focused on keeping the team united. Despite the challenges, he maintains an optimistic outlook.

“There was no finger-pointing,” Pierce said. “We’ve got another nine weeks to go. This is what we signed up for. It’s not easy, it’s tough. We wish it was simpler… but we’re still looking for answers. That’s our job.”
