Adam Fantilli recorded his second career hat trick, scoring three goals as the Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the New York Rangers 7-3 on Sunday night.

Mathieu Olivier contributed two goals, Dante Fabbro added a goal and an assist, and Justin Danforth also scored in the victory, which marked Columbus’ fifth win in their last seven games. Zach Werenski and Dmitri Voronkov each tallied two assists, while Daniil Tarasov made 30 saves.

For the Rangers, Artemi Panarin, Braden Schneider, and Chris Kreider found the net, and Mika Zibanejad had two assists. Jonathan Quick stopped 20 shots in New York’s third consecutive loss (0-1-2).

Fantilli scored twice in a span of just 26 seconds early in the second period, giving Columbus a 3-1 lead.

Schneider and Kreider each netted short-handed goals within 42 seconds to even the score, but the Blue Jackets took control from there.

Olivier and Fabbro added goals late in the second period to extend Columbus’ lead to 5-3.

Olivier was credited with his second goal of the night when Rangers defenseman Zac Jones inadvertently knocked the rebound of his shot past Quick midway through the third period.

Fantilli completed his hat trick with 8:09 left in the game.
