The Dodgers took action.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have reportedly signed former Boston Red Sox and Arizona Diamondbacks reliever to a minor league contract, according to Bob Nightengale of *USA Today*.

“Left-handed reliever signs a minor league deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, who have given him an invite to their big-league camp next spring. He pitched in 25 games in the big leagues with the Boston Red Sox and Arizona Diamondbacks the past two years,” Nightengale shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Jacques, 29, made his MLB debut in 2023 with the Red Sox, recording a 5.06 ERA over 26.2 innings. In 2024, he appeared in just two MLB games, one with Boston and one with Arizona. He now joins the Dodgers under a minor league deal.

Dodgers making moves after World Series victory

The Los Angeles Dodgers, fresh off a World Series championship, are expected to be active in MLB free agency as they aim to build another title-contending roster. While the team already boasts enough talent to make another run at the Fall Classic, their commitment to roster depth has long been a cornerstone of their success.

The Dodgers’ recent triumph was remarkable, but their focus is on creating a lasting dynasty. A move like adding Joe Jacques might not grab headlines, but it could prove beneficial for the 2025 season.

Los Angeles has a proven track record of maximizing pitchers’ potential, often helping players revitalize their careers. Whether as a starter or reliever, many pitchers have thrived after joining the Dodgers. Jacques might follow that trend, developing into a dependable bullpen option for the team.
