It’s tough to picture Kyle Schwarber suiting up for anyone other than the Phillies next season.
Over the past four years, he’s cemented himself as a beloved figure in Philadelphia, slugging 181 home runs since joining the team—second only to Aaron Judge in that span. This season alone, he’s already launched 50 more (as of Thursday), taking his power numbers to new heights.

Set to hit free agency in November, Schwarber is expected to draw plenty of interest despite being limited to designated hitter duties, thanks to his elite power. Could he actually leave?
Speaking Thursday about his future, the 32-year-old didn’t make predictions but made it clear he’s open to staying in Philadelphia.
“If something works out here, it works out here. There’s interest on both sides,” Schwarber told Jon Heyman of the New York Post. “I’m sure when we get to the end of the year—and hopefully we’re the ones holding a trophy—there’ll be conversations. Sometimes hopes and dreams don’t turn out the way they’re meant to be.”

In the same report, Phillies president of baseball operations David Dombrowski sounded even more eager about keeping Schwarber long-term.
“We want to retain him now, and we wanted to retain him then,” Dombrowski said, referencing prior talks last offseason that didn’t result in a new deal.
Alongside his 50 homers, Schwarber carried a .241/.368/.562 slash line into Thursday, while leading MLB with 123 RBI. With every swing, his market value only continues to climb.
