
The Indianapolis Colts have made several roster moves today, signing defensive tackle Josiah Bronson and defensive end Derek Rivers to the practice squad. In addition, quarterback Jason Bean was placed on the Practice Squad Injured list, and cornerback Kelvin Joseph was released from the practice squad.
Bronson, standing 6-3 and weighing 295 pounds, has appeared in eight career games, with stints on the New England Patriots (2024), Miami Dolphins (2022-23), Dallas Cowboys (2021-22), Cleveland Browns (2021), and New Orleans Saints (2021). During his career, he has recorded 12 tackles (eight solo) and one tackle for loss. He originally joined the Saints as an undrafted free agent from Washington on May 10, 2021.
Rivers, who is 6-5 and weighs 250 pounds, took part in the Colts’ 2024 training camp. He has played in 24 games (one start) across his time with the Colts (2023-24), Houston Texans (2021-23), Los Angeles Rams (2020), and New England Patriots (2017-20). Rivers has accumulated 16 tackles (11 solo), 5.0 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks. He has also played in three postseason games, where he made one special teams tackle. Rivers was selected by the Patriots in the third round (83rd overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft from Youngstown State.

Bean, measuring 6-2 and 196 pounds, joined the Colts’ practice squad on August 28, 2024, after participating in the team’s offseason program and training camp. He initially signed with Indianapolis as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2024. In his collegiate career at Kansas (2021-23) and North Texas (2018-20), Bean played in 51 games (30 starts), completing 414 of 699 passes for 5,969 yards, with 55 touchdowns and 26 interceptions. He also rushed for 1,344 yards and 14 touchdowns on 251 carries. In 2023, Bean played 12 games (10 starts), passing for 2,130 yards with 18 touchdowns and seven interceptions, while adding 280 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

Joseph, standing 6-1 and weighing 195 pounds, was signed to the practice squad on September 11, 2024. Over his career, he has played in 31 games (three starts) with the Colts (2024), Kansas City Chiefs (2024), Seattle Seahawks (2023), Dolphins (2023), and Cowboys (2021-23). Joseph has registered 29 tackles (25 solo), one tackle for loss, four passes defended, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and 10 special teams tackles. He also has experience in three postseason games, where he recorded one forced fumble and two special teams tackles. Joseph was drafted by the Cowboys in the second round (44th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft from Kentucky.
