Auburn Secures Verbal Commitment from 2026 Butterfly Specialist Zetta Bartee
New Commitment: Zetta Bartee, a Junior National finalist from Charlotte, North Carolina, has verbally committed to join Auburn University in Fall 2026.
Expressing her excitement, Bartee shared:
“I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at Auburn University! Thank you so much to my family, friends, and coaches for being there for me throughout this process, I wouldn’t be where I am without y’all. War Eagle!!”

Specializing in the butterfly, Bartee trains with the Mecklenburg Swim Association. This past summer, she placed sixth in the 100m butterfly at the Minneapolis Futures and reached finals in three additional events. Last winter, she ranked 17th in the 200 fly and 20th in the 100 fly at Juniors East, and later achieved three top-3 finishes at the Eastern Zone Speedo Spring Championships.
Her personal bests include:
– 200 Fly: 1:58.11
– 100 Fly: 53.89
– 200 Free: 1:48.09
– 100 Free: 50.64
– 50 Free: 23.71
– 200 IM: 2:02.10
Currently a junior at Providence Day School, Bartee won the 200 free and took bronze in the 100 fly at the 2024 NCISSA DI State Championships, having also won both events as a freshman.
Bartee’s 200 fly time would have ranked her as Auburn’s fourth-fastest in that event last season. Auburn finished fourth overall at the 2024 Southeastern Conference Championships.
