With just over a week left in Spring Training, the Mariners continue to trim their roster as they finalize their 40-man and 25-man rosters for Opening Day.

The team is now down to 47 players in big-league camp, consisting of 36 rostered players, 10 non-roster invitees, and Jackson Kowar, who remains on the 60-day IL.

Seattle optioned right-hander Will Klein to Triple-A Tacoma. Klein, acquired from the A’s in exchange for international slot money, showed promise this spring with eight strikeouts over five innings but struggled with command, issuing three walks. He will look to refine his control in Tacoma.

The Mariners also reassigned utility player Samad Taylor and infielder Nick Dunn to minor-league camp. Taylor made an impact early, hitting Seattle’s first home run of the spring and driving in seven runs over 20 plate appearances.

Dunn’s standout moment was a 13-pitch at-bat that ended in a double off Angels pitcher Caden Dana, leaving a strong impression on fans and broadcaster Rick Rizzs.

Additionally, the Mariners released veteran reliever Neftali Feliz, ending his bid to pitch for every team in the AL West.

A few non-roster or fringe players remain in camp, including right-handers Shintaro Fujinami, Jesse Hahn, Casey Legumina, and Seth Martinez, as well as lefty Drew Pomeranz. Legumina and Martinez appear to have an edge in the bullpen competition. Infielders Miles Mastrobuoni and Rowdy Tellez are also still in contention for Opening Day spots.

Among prospects, pitchers Logan Evans and Brandyn García, catcher Harry Ford, and infielder Ben Williamson have yet to be reassigned and remain in big-league camp.
