BREAKING: Dolphins Officially Make Significant Roster Moves

The Miami Dolphins announced today that they have claimed defensive tackle Matthew Butler off waivers from the Las Vegas Raiders and have released defensive tackle Tre’vonn Rybka.

Butler, originally a fifth-round pick (175th overall) by Las Vegas in the 2022 NFL Draft, has played in 15 games over three seasons (2022–24), including one start.

He has recorded 15 tackles (five solo) and 0.5 sacks. Butler played college football at Tennessee from 2017 to 2021, appearing in 53 games with 26 starts, and totaled 152 tackles (69 solo), 9.5 sacks, three passes defensed, and two forced fumbles.

Rybka, who joined the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025, played four seasons at Kentucky (2021–24). He appeared in 48 games with 25 starts for the Wildcats, posting 95 tackles (41 solo), 5.0 sacks, 11.5 tackles for loss, one pass defensed, and one forced fumble.
