BREAKING: Chargers Reportedly Land Ravens’ Superstar TE

It’s no secret that the Los Angeles Chargers are actively searching for a difference-making pass catcher however they can find one.

Aside from rookie Ladd McConkey, their wide receivers and tight ends contributed very little last season.

The team did add former Jets tight end Tyler Conklin earlier this offseason, but that move feels more like a temporary fix than a long-term answer.

To be fair, the free agent pool for tight ends wasn’t particularly impressive, making the draft the Chargers’ most promising avenue for improving the position.

That said, new reports suggest LA could have another option—via trade.

There’s been growing speculation that the Baltimore Ravens might consider dealing longtime standout Mark Andrews.

Given the Chargers’ urgent need for a top-tier receiving threat, they’ve naturally been mentioned as a potential landing spot.

In a recent trade-heavy mock draft from ESPN’s Bill Barnwell, he projected a blockbuster deal between the Chargers and Ravens.

Barnwell proposed that LA would send offensive lineman Zion Johnson and the 22nd overall pick to Baltimore in exchange for Andrews.

While Andrews’ numbers dipped last year, it was largely due to the rise of emerging talent Isaiah Likely, not because of a decline in skill.

Even in what many considered a down season, Andrews racked up nearly 700 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.

Though no longer in his prime, that level of production would be a massive upgrade for the Chargers.

Since Hall of Famer Antonio Gates retired, only Hunter Henry has topped 600 yards at the position—and even he was let go due to injury issues.

So, even a slightly diminished version of Andrews would far exceed what LA has seen in recent years.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has expressed his desire to keep Andrews in Baltimore, but the final decision isn’t his alone.

With Andrews nearing 30 and entering the final year of his contract—and with Likely’s emergence—it’s unclear whether the Ravens will offer him a new deal.

If Baltimore decides to move on and trade him, the Chargers should be ready to pounce.
