The Denver Broncos will soon be facing some tough roster calls, and running back could be one of the trickiest spots. Thanks to the arrivals of JK Dobbins and RJ Harvey, the team suddenly has more depth at the position than it needs.
While that’s a good problem to have, it also means players like Tyler Badie, Blake Watson, Audric Estimé, and Jaleel McLaughlin could end up fighting over just one or two roster spots.
In fact, some have suggested the Broncos move on from a once-important contributor in the backfield heading into 2025.
Bleacher Report urges the Denver Broncos to cut RB Jaleel McLaughlin

Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report made the case that Jaleel McLaughlin could be on the outside looking in with the Broncos. McLaughlin is no slouch—he set the NCAA career rushing record at Youngstown State and turned in a solid 4.4 yards per carry on 113 attempts last season, while also contributing as a pass-catcher.
The problem is depth. JK Dobbins and RJ Harvey are roster locks, and 2024 draft pick Audric Estime has age and draft investment on his side.
If Denver keeps four backs, that leaves just one spot to be decided between McLaughlin, Tyler Badie, and Blake Watson.
Both Badie and Watson have had strong showings in camp, which puts McLaughlin’s future in Denver in doubt. With Badie looking like a near-lock, the most likely quartet could end up being Dobbins, Harvey, Badie, and Estime. Even so, McLaughlin’s talent is enough that the Broncos might be able to trade him rather than cut him outright.
