Breaking: Angels confirmed the released of two top star

The Los Angeles Angels released two experienced left-handed pitchers, Amir Garrett and Adam Kolarek, on Wednesday.

Both pitchers, who have played in over 500 major league games combined, were with the Angels’ Triple-A affiliate in Salt Lake.

Garrett, 32, posted a 5.06 ERA in six appearances with the Angels this season and had a 3-2 record with a 5.08 ERA in 26 appearances (including two starts) for Salt Lake. Over his eight-year major league career with three teams, including the Cincinnati Reds from 2017 to 2021, Garrett has a 13-19 record and a 4.95 ERA in 328 appearances (14 starts).

Kolarek, 35, did not pitch for the Angels this season despite signing a $900,000 contract in the offseason. At Salt Lake, he went 1-1 with a 6.97 ERA. Over seven major league seasons with four teams, Kolarek has a record of 11-4, with four saves and a 3.62 ERA in 175 relief appearances.

These roster moves followed the Angels’ acquisition of right-hander Nick Robertson and left-hander Brock Burke on Tuesday.
