When the Chargers finalized their 53-man roster on Tuesday, many were surprised to see just three running backs make the cut, which meant parting ways with Raheim Sanders and Kimani Vidal. The expectation was that both would clear waivers and return on the practice squad after Wednesday’s claims.

That plan didn’t last long, though. Sanders, a much-talked-about UDFA with plenty of upside, was scooped up by the Cleveland Browns.
He wasn’t the only Charger to get claimed either—2024 seventh-rounder Trikweze Bridges went to the Cowboys, while wideout Dalevon Campbell, a South Carolina product, landed with the Panthers.

Now that those moves are official, the Chargers can shift focus to filling out their practice squad, where it looks like Vidal, the team’s sixth-round pick this year, will find a spot.
