Five-star center Chris Cenac recently revealed his list of favorite schools, and Tennessee basketball made the cut.

Five-star center Chris Cenac, the top-ranked player at his position in the country, has included Tennessee basketball in his list of preferred schools, which he revealed this weekend. Other programs on his list are Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Connecticut, Houston, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Michigan State, and Texas.

Offers are pouring in for stock-rising 2025 five-star big man Chris Cenac

Cenac has not scheduled any official visits yet, but he has made unofficial visits to Houston and LSU. He is expected to make his college decision this fall and sign early in November.

Standing at 6-foot-10 and weighing 230 pounds, Cenac plays for Link Academy in Branson, Mo. He is ranked as the 14th overall player in the country by 247Sports and is considered the top player in Missouri. The 247Sports Composite Rankings place him 16th overall nationally.

Originally from New Orleans, Cenac’s recruitment has surged this summer. Previously ranked in the 50-60 range, strong performances at high-level events have propelled him to No. 15 nationally, earning him over 20 new scholarship offers in just a month and a half.

“We’ll be looking at my relationship with the coaches,” Cenac told 247Sports national basketball director Eric Bossi this summer. “We’ll look for a school that is going to develop me, and also the opportunity to play when I get there. Those are the main things.”

Tennessee currently has one commitment for the class of 2025 in four-star center DeWayne Brown from Hoover, Ala. In the previous recruiting cycle, the Volunteers signed four-star guard Bishop Boswell from Charlotte, N.C.

Despite signing just one high school prospect last offseason, Tennessee brought in four transfers: North Florida guard Chaz Lanier, Ohio State center Felix Okpara, Charlotte forward Igor Milicic Jr., and Hofstra wing Darlinstone Dubar. Lanier, Milicic, and Dubar are all seniors.

The Volunteers are set to lose starting point guard Zakai Zeigler, wing Jahmai Mashack, and guard Jordan Gainey after the 2024-25 season.
