Former Detroit Tigers right-hander has reportedly signed a minor-league contract with the Los Angeles Angels after being released by the Atlanta Braves in April.
The 34-year-old Farmer had joined his hometown Braves on a minor-league deal in February but was released without appearing in the majors.
Originally drafted by the Tigers out of Georgia Tech in 2013, He reached the big leagues quickly, debuting in August 2014. He spent nearly eight seasons with Detroit, compiling a 5.33 ERA over 320 2/3 innings in 241 appearances before being released in 2021.
Though never a standout, He provided stability and could cover multiple innings when needed.
He finished 2021 in Triple-A with the Texas Rangers before joining the Cincinnati Reds in 2022. After making the Reds’ Opening Day roster, he remained with the team through the 2024 season.

Farmer was briefly designated for assignment in May 2022 but returned to the Reds on a minor-league deal shortly after, rejoining the major-league squad in June.
Most recently, he pitched in five games for the Braves’ Triple-A affiliate, posting a 7.71 ERA over 4 2/3 innings before his release in mid-April.
He now hopes to work his way back to the majors with the Angels, who also signed former Tigers left-hander Andrew Vasquez earlier this week.
