Louisville football head coach Jeff Brohm has announced the addition of two more players from the transfer portal.

Defensive lineman Kendrick Gilbert, formerly with Kentucky, and offensive lineman Sam Secrest, who returns to Louisville after a stint at Houston, have both signed with the Cardinals.

Their arrival brings the Cardinals’ total to eight new players added during the spring transfer window. Tight end Davon Mitchell remains the only unconfirmed addition.

Gilbert, a 6-foot-5, 262-pound lineman, began his college career at Kentucky. In 2023, he recorded two tackles in two games as a true freshman and followed that with five tackles, including one for loss, across eight games in 2024. A standout from Indianapolis Cathedral High School, he was a highly rated recruit, ranked No. 385 nationally by the 247Sports Composite.

Secrest began his college career at Louisville, playing two games in 2023 before transferring to Houston, where he appeared in two games during the 2024 season. He’s now returning to the Cards. A graduate of Indianapolis Roncalli, Secrest originally signed with Louisville in 2022.
