Seattle Seahawks running back is heading into the final year of his contract, and one NFL analyst suggests the team might try to trade him for any value they can get.
Drafted in the second round in 2022 out of Michigan State, Walker had an impressive rookie campaign with 1,050 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on 228 carries.
Since then, however, his production has declined—he managed only 573 yards and seven touchdowns on 153 carries in 11 games last season. With free agency looming in 2026, Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay believes Seattle may opt to move on and prioritize younger talent.

Kay’s reasoning is understandable. Fellow second-rounder Zach Charbonnet showed promise while filling in for Walker and is expected to take over as the lead back.
The Seahawks also have depth with seventh-rounders Kenny McIntosh and rookie Damien Martinez, who was widely projected to be selected much earlier in the draft. Given Seattle’s surplus at the position, it’s likely that other NFL teams would express interest in acquiring Walker.
