The Los Angeles Angels will be without star outfielder for a short period.

Manager Ron Washington confirmed Thursday night that He has been placed on the injured list with a bone bruise in his left knee. Fortunately, Washington noted that the injury isn’t considered serious and tests revealed no structural damage.

He Trout was forced to leave Wednesday’s game against the Seattle Mariners in the third inning after trying to beat out a ground ball. Although he said afterward that his knee was feeling better, he was not in the lineup for Thursday’s series opener versus the Detroit Tigers.

This marks yet another stint on the injured list for the frequently sidelined Trout, who has struggled to stay healthy in recent years. He previously tore the meniscus in the same knee last season and has also dealt with a broken hamate bone, back issues, and a calf strain.

The Angels, who have dropped six games in a row, currently sit at the bottom of the AL West with a 12-18 record.
