Todd Golden and the Florida Gators aren’t wasting any time following their 2025 national title win.

With much of their backcourt heading to the NBA or graduating, the Gators are aggressively pursuing top-tier replacements—and one standout name has emerged.

According to Joe Tipton of On3 Sports, Florida has its sights set on a former five-star recruit and the son of ex-NBA All-Star Peja Stojaković.

Stojakovic, a 6-foot-7 sophomore, entered the transfer portal after a breakout season at Cal and is attracting serious attention from programs like Illinois, North Carolina, Gonzaga, USC, and Florida.

He made a massive leap in his second college season, bouncing back from a quiet freshman year at Stanford to average 17.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game—leading Cal in scoring and blocks. Only Auburn’s Johni Broome and Duke’s Cooper Flagg put up similarly balanced numbers en route to All-American honors.

Florida could use a player with that level of versatility and production.

With Walter Clayton Jr., Alijah Martin, and Will Richard all departing, Golden is looking to plug in a high-usage wing who can score, defend, and rise to the occasion in big moments.

Although Denzel Aberdeen is back via the transfer portal, there’s still plenty of opportunity for a talent like Stojakovic to take center stage.

His recruitment remains open, but Florida has both the momentum and the credibility of a championship program.

Golden’s building something special in Gainesville—and landing a player like Stojakovic could be a major step in defending their crown in 2026.
