The Las Vegas Raiders made a significant misstep last offseason by allowing running back Josh Jacobs to walk in free agency without securing a new deal.
The team believed Zamir White could handle the role of lead back, but he ultimately fell short of expectations.
As a result, the Raiders finished last in the NFL in rushing yards per game, which severely impacted their ability to compete each week.
Holding the No. 6 pick in this year’s draft, many believe the Raiders should target Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty to bolster the backfield.

Others argue that due to the depth of this year’s running back class, the team should wait and take a running back in the middle or later rounds instead.
However, Sports Illustrated’s Conor Orr offered an alternative suggestion: “If you reach Day 3 without a running back, why not be the team that trades for Breece Hall?”
Hall, entering the final year of his rookie contract with the New York Jets, has consistently produced at a high level—topping 1,350 all-purpose yards and scoring at least eight touchdowns in every fully healthy season.

While the Raiders signed Raheem Mostert this offseason, he’s not suited for a heavy workload at this stage in his career. Hall could be an ideal addition for Coach Pete Carroll and the offense if the draft doesn’t provide the right answer.
