The Georgia Bulldogs are primarily focused on their 2026 recruiting class but have quietly added a key piece for the 2025 season.

After missing out on the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff, Georgia aims to reclaim the national championship. Helping in that effort will be the son of a Pro Football Hall of Famer who once played for the Bulldogs.

London Seymour, a defensive lineman from North Gwinnett (Ga.) and the son of Richard Seymour, has committed to Georgia, according to Dawgs247. He will enroll in the summer, choosing the Bulldogs over scholarship offers from Boston College, Colorado, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, and Marshall.

Georgia has added legacy DL London Seymour to 2025 class

Initially, Seymour had planned to sign with Boston College on a full scholarship, a program tied to his father’s NFL legacy—Richard Seymour won three Super Bowls with the New England Patriots.

Before securing Seymour, Georgia had already bolstered its defensive line with five-star prospect Elijah Griffin (Pooler, Ga.), ranked third overall in the class per On3’s industry rankings, and three-star Jayden-Jamal Hanne (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.).

Ranked 123rd among defensive linemen in the 2025 class by 247Sports, Seymour is a three-star prospect. In his senior season, he recorded 58 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, six sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and a pass deflection while playing defensive tackle.

Though he may need time before earning significant playing time, having a Seymour back in Athens will be a nostalgic sight for Georgia fans.
