Georgia football and Kirby Smart recruit more than 100 players each cycle, but certain names always stand out. Whether they are among the nation’s top prospects or have family ties to the program, some recruits naturally draw more attention from fans.
This time, the spotlight is on a legacy recruit whose brother is already on Georgia’s roster, as he has scheduled an official visit with the Bulldogs.
4-star DL Carter Luckie
Carter Luckie, a four-star defensive lineman from Norcross, GA, is ranked No. 254 overall in the nation according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He is also the No. 32 defensive lineman in the 2026 class and the No. 31 prospect from Georgia.

Given his talent, many programs are likely interested in Luckie, but the chances of him committing anywhere other than Georgia are slim. The reason? His deep family ties to the Bulldogs.
Georgia fans may recognize the name “Luckie” because his older brother, Lawson Luckie, is a standout tight end for the team. Entering his third season, Lawson is expected to be a key part of Georgia’s offense and will likely be in Carter’s ear about joining him in Athens.
Beyond his brother, Carter has other relatives who have also played for Georgia, growing up in a household devoted to the Bulldogs. While some recruits prefer to forge their own path, it would be a major surprise if Luckie did the same. While no recruitment is final until a commitment is official, this one seems as close to a sure thing as it gets.
