The Toronto Blue Jays entered the offseason with intentions to elevate their team, reportedly targeting stars like Juan Soto, Max Fried, and Corbin Burnes. However, despite these early rumors, the Blue Jays haven’t made any major moves, as these players signed with other teams.

As a result, it’s increasingly likely that the Blue Jays will trade shortstop Bo Bichette, who is in the final year of his contract. Bleacher Report’s Zachary Rymer has suggested that the Atlanta Braves would be a prime candidate for a trade. Rymer proposed a potential one-for-one deal, sending Bichette to Atlanta in exchange for the Braves’ top prospect, left-handed pitcher Cam Caminiti.

Rymer wrote that while Orlando Arcia made the All-Star team in 2023, his selection was questionable, and his performance has worsened since. This year, he posted a .218 average and 0.5 rWAR. The Braves were expected to be a powerhouse but struggled with injuries and underperformance, finishing with only 89 wins. Despite the quiet offseason so far, the Braves have significant pitching depth, which the Blue Jays could target in a Bichette trade.

Although Bichette is a talented player with the potential to regain his All-MLB form, trading Caminiti, the Braves’ No. 1 prospect, for him may be too steep a price. Given Bichette’s expiring contract, it seems unlikely the Braves would part with such a valuable asset. While the Braves are a likely destination for Bichette, the deal would probably involve a pitching prospect like Hurston Waldrep rather than Caminiti.
