San Diego Padres, an infielder with the San Diego Padres, is among the most intriguing free agents available this winter. On the one side, He is a superb shortstop glove who can also hit quite effectively. However, he is recovering from a quite severe shoulder injury.
It will be difficult to forecast how much his deal will be worth in free agency. I think his contract might just be two or three years because he’ll probably sign for far less than his value.
Bleacher Report’s Zachary Rymer recently forecasted that the Padres infielder would sign a $60 million, four-year contract with the Detroit Tigers. Because of their similar WARs over the past few seasons, Rymer likened Him to Willy Adames, an infielder with the San Francisco Giants, in the article.
Naturally, this is meant to be provocative. At his peak, Adames is a 30-homer slugger who plays shortstop defense worthy of the Gold Glove, Rymer noted. “He can only do the latter at his best. Even this is predicated on a full recovery from surgery on the right shoulder.
That’s a big “if” though. Detroit has already experienced quite a nightmare at shortstop with Javier Baez. The last thing the Tigers need is another infielder that signs for big money and doesn’t produce. Signing Kim comes with a big risk, which is something the Tigers would need to be very wary of in this case. Honestly, I feel as though he’ll return fine. I’m sure the Tigers, in this case, would do beyond their due diligence to be sure of it. A healthy Kim fits perfectly in Detroit’s lineup.

The “if” there is a significant one. Javier Baez has already been a nightmare for Detroit at shortstop. Another infield player who contracts for a high salary but fails to deliver is the last thing the Tigers need. The Tigers would need to exercise extreme caution in this situation since signing Kim carries a significant risk.
To be honest, I think he’ll be all right when he gets back. In this instance, I have no doubt that the Tigers will go above and above the call of duty to ensure it. In Detroit’s lineup, a healthy Kim is ideal.
