ANAHEIM, Calif. — The Los Angeles Dodgers have secured the World Series title, and teams across the league are gearing up for the 2025 MLB season with hopes of competing for the championship.
The Los Angeles Angels have strengthened their roster by adding some star power. On Thursday, they announced the acquisition of 2021 World Series MVP Jorge Soler from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for pitcher Griffin Canning.
Soler, who won a World Series title with the Chicago Cubs in 2016 in addition to his 2021 championship, played for the San Francisco Giants and had a second stint with the Braves during the 2024 season.
The 32-year-old right fielder appeared in 142 games, hitting 21 home runs and driving in 64 RBIs.

Soler led the American League in home runs with the Kansas City Royals in 2019, hitting a career-high 48, and earned his first All-Star selection with the Miami Marlins in 2023.
He has two years remaining on a three-year, $42 million contract and is expected to primarily serve as the team’s designated hitter.
