Most baseball fans are aware of how disastrous the Chicago White Sox’s 2024 season was, as they set a modern-era record with 121 losses in a single season.
Despite being the league’s worst team, it’s worth noting that just four seasons ago, the White Sox claimed the AL Central title with a 93-69 record.
To return to that level of competitiveness, the White Sox are reportedly considering significant changes, including trading their most talented and popular player.

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the White Sox are open to dealing Luis Robert Jr., a move highlighted by B/R Walk-Off on X.
Robert, who has been a standout since debuting in 2020, earned All-Star and Silver Slugger honors in 2023. However, like the rest of the team, he struggled in 2024. In 100 games, he hit .224 with 14 home runs, 35 RBIs, and a .657 OPS—a sharp decline from his 2023 performance when he batted .264 with 38 homers, 80 RBIs, and an .857 OPS across 145 games.
Nightengale suggests the White Sox may seek a package deal for Robert this offseason as part of their rebuilding efforts.
After losing 20 more games each season since their 81-81 finish in 2022, the 2024 campaign marks rock bottom for the franchise. It’s difficult to imagine things getting worse, and the team is now focused on rebuilding to regain competitiveness as quickly as possible.
