On Tuesday afternoon, the Chargers announced that they had signed linebacker and wide receiver to their practice squad. To make room, the team released tight end Luke Benson and cornerback Nehemiah Shelton.
we’ve signed LB Blake Lynch and WR Jalen Reagor to our practice squad

Reagor was most recently with the Patriots in 2023, where he primarily contributed on special teams, including a 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Lynch, a key special teams player for the Chargers in 2023, is expected to continue in that role as several special teams contributors are currently sidelined due to injuries.

The decision to bring in Reagor likely stems from the coaching staff’s desire to increase competition in the return game. While Darius Davis earned Second-Team All-Pro honors as a punt returner in 2023, he has appeared hesitant in his decision-making during the first three games of the season.
Jim Harbaugh and Joe Hortiz have maintained their approach of constantly refining the roster, and this move suggests they felt it was necessary to make adjustments after Sunday’s loss to the Steelers.
